Our festival vibe returns this year at our Summer Open Farm event on Saturday 29 August 2026, 12pm - 5pm. We'll be offering tasty food & drink options, along with talking about how we farm with nature, bringing you closer to our animals and the opportunity to browse our artisan stalls of local creators and makers. And of course our Redwoods produce will be available to purchase - regeneratively farmed, slow grown meat, eggs & honey for that Redwoods Flavour!
We were originally planning to fire up the BBQ, we decided to make the change to a Hog Roast that we can cook more safely down at the farm, given the drought conditions, as we want to ensure that our farm (& surrounding farms) stay safe. Please note our site will be strictly non-smoking & please ensure you are visiting the countryside safely, given the extremely dry conditions.

Food & Drink
Our little barn against the hedge that we usually use for our pop up farm shop, will be transformed into The Food Shack for the afternoon! We'll be serving our freshly cooked Hog Roast with all the trimmings. As a vegetarian alternative, we'll offer Courgette Frittas, which have been home grown & also include our pasture raised, soy free eggs.
Our eggs also lend their amazing flavour to our homebaked cakes & cookies on offer and we'll also be serving the delicious Taw River Dairy ice creams that were so popular last year.
Gluten free options will be available, but please advise our helpers if you have any other dietary requirements.
With a range of hot & cold drinks on offer, we've covered all bases to keep you fueled for the afternoon.
What's on
We've got lots of activities planned for this year, including some new ones. We're creating a Demo Zone to host our talks, demos & two of our new Make & Take mini workshops, although there's lots happening around the field, so read on to find out what's happening where.
Make & Take sessions are on a first come, first served basis, please see below for maximum numbers and age restrictions (children must be supervised at all times).

Local artisan stalls
We have carefully curated range of local artisans and they help us build the welcoming community at our Redwoods events. All our artisans share our local, sustainable ethos and are happy to chat about their products, so pop along to browse a treasure trove of riches.
Andy, The Devon Bee Shed
Since Andy keeps some of his beehives on Redwoods Farm, you'll have the opportunity to buy Redwoods honey, crafted by the bees from nectar foraged in our diverse hedgerows and fields.
We've seen first hand the care and attention Andy puts into looking after his bees, using the least intrusive methods he can to allow the bees to live their natural lives. You'll be able to visit the bee hives as part of the farm walk and hear from Andy about how he manages the bees, as well as learning more about these fascinating creatures. Paula from Felting Feels
Paula has had a love of textiles for many years, knitting or sewing many wonderful things, but she really found her passion when she started expanding her knowledge of the many techniques in the heritage craft of felting over six years ago.
Since then, Paula has invested a lot of time mastering the art and amazes me with the huge range of felted creations she handcrafts, specialising in local Devon & British Wool, along with other natural & waste fibres. She'll happily talk passionately about the many felting & other processes in her products when you visit her stall, or to find out more check out her Instagram (@feltingfeels) or website.
Paula is also delivering a Make & Take session at 12.30pm to offer the opportunity to craft with our very own Redwoods Fibre (see the What's on section above).
Francesca Mack Smith Jewellery
Francesca is an artist and maker producing carefully considered silver and enamel jewellery that reflects the nature around her since her move to Devon.
Working with recycled silver, adding colour with enamels, Francesca handmakes delicate pieces from pendants to rings and much more, in a distinctive style interpreting colours from the natural world. Attending markets & craft fayres, along with taking on commissions, to see more find Francesca on Instagram (@francesca_mack_smith).
Francesca is delivering Make & Take sessions 1-2-1 to craft your own Hammered earrings at her stall throughout the afternoon (see What's on section above).
Tim at From Tim's Workshop
Tim has the amazing vision to acquire salvage items that he can repurpose, restore and upcycle to create unique pieces of agri art, homewares and furniture.
With the use of woods such as oak, elm, sycamore and even pallet wood combined with metal objects others would consider scraps, interesting pieces come to life under Tim’s expert hands. We are fortunate to have him represented at our event by his wife Bonnie, as he attends various markets, locally at Tiverton and further afield such as North Devon, Somerset, Dorset and more. Katie from Katie Chapple Photography
As a very talented photographer, we've been fortunate that Katie has done most of the photography for our website!
Having grown up on a farm and around animals all her life, Katie has a real affinity for capturing them in their natural environment, with the patience for catching that perfect image. You'll be able to purchase a range of cards, prints & more at our event. She specialises in pet and family photography, so you can chat with Katie if you want to book your own photoshoot with her. Jenna from The Wood Nest
Jenna is a designer maker who produces a unique range of gifts and more using locally sourced sawmill offcuts or reclaimed wood, to create a canvas for new work, inspired by her adventures in nature.
