Redwoods Farm is BBC Radio Devon's Spring Farm

It was a pleasure to welcome Caroline Densley from BBC Radio Devon as she visited our farm recently.  I am featured on her mid morning program as the BBC Radio Devon Spring Farm for a week in April.  Check out our conversations across the week on the BBC Sounds app, or through the links to each clip which we will post below as they are available.

Where to listen live

Caroline Densley presents her morning show on BBC Radio Devon from 10am daily, with a mix of music and chat celebrating the best of what's going on in the county.  Find her show on BBC Sounds here to listen live or on catch up each day from today.

Chatting all things Spring farming

Caroline is passionate about sharing all aspects of Devon, and obviously farming is a huge part of our landscape!  She's featuring farming on her program for her listeners to understand what goes on through the seasons.  With the Winter feature already completed, she visited Redwoods Farm to find out what happens here during Spring.

I really enjoyed our conversations, with lots of animal sounds in the background as Caroline joined me whilst I was working around the farm and meeting lots of the animals we farm.

It was an opportunity to share our farming methods and what happens at Redwoods Farm at this time of year and it truly was a pleasure chatting with Caroline, who was so interested in what we are doing.

Today's focus was on the pigs, with Caroline joining me whilst I fed Elvis and his girlfriends, which made for some interesting background sounds as they tucked into their lunch!

Today finds us strolling out in the sunshine to see our cows with Poppy & our lovely Pheonix gets a mention!  Caroline met some of our cattle, housed indoors over our wet winter so as to protect our ground, but still 100% grass fed as they are on silage rations whilst in.  We chat about long term future plans and challenges.
